Slackin’ in Boston

Welcome to Friday! Did you survive the week? This one seemed really long for some reason. Hmph.

Well I have some cool fitness news. Last December, my roommate and I bought a Living Social Deal to a fitness studio near us that offers a program called Total Body Shaping. The class description from the website:

Total Body Shaping is a dynamic workout program that combines resistance training, toning exercises and cardio intervals. The Total Body Shaping program also includes fitness evaluations to help track your progress. Through TBS, you’ll see increases in flexibility, strength, muscle tone and definition and weight and body fat loss.

Sounds like a cool class, right? It meets 5 days a week for 10 weeks. I definitely won’t make it to all the classes, since I’m taking the class at 7 pm and I don’t feel like giving up my entire social life. I’d like to try and make it 2-3 times a week though for sure.

After the 10 weeks, I’d love to look like this, but way more jacked.

The class includes three evaluations that check your weight, body mass index and measurements, so you can compare them from the beginning of the class to the end of the class. Cool!

Em has been taking the class this summer and likes it a lot.

I think changing up your workouts and fitness routines is so important. Ever since I started doing the Jillian Michaels DVDs, I’ve gotten a lot more toned and much better at strength moves. When I was just doing the elliptical at the gym all the time, I wasn’t improving my body in many ways. Between running, yoga and this class, I think I’m setting myself up with a very well-rounded fitness schedule :) Woohoo!

Needing some inspiration today :)

Right? :)

Tonight

I am sooooooo excited for tonight! My favorite band in the whole world is playing on a boat cruise in the Boston Harbor.

The Slackers!

Their booze cruises are the best! I’ve gone to their NYC cruises a couple times too and those are such an experience; floating around and seeing the Statue of Liberty lit up at night- so amazing. I didn’t even work out this morning because I always get a great workout dancing at their shows- I’m a sweaty mess when I leave!

My goal for the night is to get a picture with the trombone player. I have a picture with every other guy in the band, except him! I want to make my photo collage! LOL.

Me and Agent Jay- the guitarist.

Me and Vic- the singer.

Glen, the trombonist, and Marcus, the bassist. No me. :(

I’ll be “slackin” tonight. Hope you all have a great weekend as well!

Who’s your favorite band?

Ever been on a concert cruise?
