Good morning! Is it pouring rain where you are? I got absolutely soaked on my way to work today. Yuck. Nothing worse than sitting in the car in wet clothes. I think I’ve finally dried off though
I’ve mentioned before that I love blogging- and this is still true. Since I love it so much, I really want to up my game and start improving my blog a little. I love the Boston Common tulips in my header, but they don’t really represent this blog. I’m hoping to get a new header up there in a couple of months. Also, I need to decide if I’m going to keep my theme. Pink is pretty much my color, but I feel like it might be annoying or too girlie? Any thoughts?
The first improvement I’ve made is to finally make a Recipe page! I gathered all the recipes I’ve posted on PjsAndYogaPants and put them in one, easy to find spot. Check out my Recipes page right under my About Me page. Some of my favorite recipes are: Naturally Sweet Dark Chocolate Banana Bread, Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos, Sweet Potato Fries, Baked Tilapia and Cherry Bomb tequila. Check them out and let me know if you try any.
I wasn’t feeling well last night; I think I’m fighting off a cold or allergies or something. I was good all day yesterday, until about 4 pm. I rested and got some good sleep and felt good enough to work out this morning. I tried a workout I found on Pinterest.
I went through this circuit 3 times, but changed a few moves. I can’t do Burpees in my my apartment because they’re too loud for people below me, so I did punches and planks instead. We did a lot of planks on Monday night at my boot camp class and I couldn’t hold them for very long. I definitely want to improve. Overall, this was a pretty good workout. I was hot by the end!
Wheat Grass Smoothie
In Tosca Reno’s book, The Eat Clean Diet: Stripped, she has a recipe for a green smoothie that includes wheatgrass. I didn’t get all of the ingredients for the smoothie, but I did buy the wheatgrass at Whole Foods (it’s in the Supplements section, by the way). Wheatgrass is pretty high in calcium, beta carotene (Vitamin A), iron and amino acids, making it a nice addition to your diet (source: livestrong.com).
The guy at Whole Foods told me that wheatgrass tasted awful, but I could mask the taste with apple juice. No way I’m adding crappy old apple juice to my smoothie. I bought two little individual packs, just in case it was as awful as he said.
I made the smoothie and took it to work. Not the prettiest smoothie ever…
The conclusion…delish! It’s a little grainy, from the wheatgrass powder and the strawberry seeds, but still really tasty. Yay!
1 c. almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
1 c. blueberries and strawberries
1 heaping tbsp of peanut butter
1 packet of wheatgrass
I think I’ll hit up Whole Foods and buy the big container of wheatgrass now. And ,I think now I’ll add this smoothie to my Recipe page!
Talk to ya tomorrow!
Ever tried wheatgrass or any other supplements?
